Marcom is currently seeking an onsite Chemical Engineer.
Position Purpose:
Provide system and process engineering support to the Idaho Cleanup Project's Calcine Disposition Project. Apply system engineering concepts and principles to assigned system(s) through design, construction, testing, start-up and operations to assure operability, safety basis compliance and configuration management in accordance with Company procedures and policies. Provide process engineering expertise, relative to the support of Capital Asset acquisition of a treatment facility. Understand the mechanical and chemical interactions of calcine in a vitrification treatment process, so that effective engineering solutions can be implemented to progress the success of the CDP process.

Position Responsibilities:
- Provide process engineering expertise, relative to the support of Capital Asset acquisition of a treatment facility, with an understanding of the mechanical and chemical interactions of calcine in a vitrification treatment process, so that effective engineering solutions can be implemented to progress the CDP.
- Write technical documents with a high level of efficiency and accuracy.
- Investigate and compare equipment to be used in an industrial processing facility.
- Evaluate technical data, analysis, equipment, proposals and designs.
- Interact with management, suppliers, vendors, through effective communication.
- Plan for and prepare work scope and schedules.
- Gather and develop technical and functional requirements
- Provide systems engineering to assist ICP Projects and Facility managers in refining and managing requirements; identifying, developing, and evaluating alternative solutions and system architectures; identifying uncertainties and assessing tradeoffs between various performance measures /criteria; testing the near- and long-term consequences of various strategies and scenarios; and verifying system conformance and traceability to requirements. Application of systems engineering provides the structure and discipline for controlling risks, improving efficiency, supporting informed decision-making, and verifying interfaces such that products and services meet the customer's needs.
- Apply system engineering to integrate configuration management, design control, change control, document control, implementation and verification, systems integration and controls, and assessments during the life cycle of systems, structures, and components (SSCs).
- Complete special short- and long-term work tasks when assigned by management
- Maintain training current with employee's individual training plan.
Minimum Qualification Requirements (Education/Experience):
- BS degree in Engineering and 5 years relevant experience for aspects of the job associated with System Engineering.
- BS degree in Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry in combination with another Engineering degree, for Process Engineering expertise
- Must be a U.S. Citizen to work at government facility
- Must be able to work 4x10 hour days
