Position Summary
Indiana University School of Nursing (IUSON) seeks qualified applicants for tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of associate or full professor. We invite applicants who have a record of nationally and/or internationally disseminated and peer reviewed scholarship and emerging or sustained national reputation. IUSON offers a full range of academic programs from BSN to DNP and PhD. IUSON is looking for applicants who will contribute to our commitment to engage the city, state, nation, and beyond through research, teaching, and service, in consideration of the rich diversity of our campus and community.
Overall, the candidate's responsibilities include contributing to IUSON's research, teaching, and service missions.
1. The candidate is expected to have a record of nationally and/or internationally disseminated and peer reviewed scholarship. For appointment to Associate Professor, applicants must show evidence of an emerging national reputation. For appointment to Full Professor, applicants must show evidence of a sustained national reputation as demonstrated by a well-established and cumulative body of work in rank. The candidate must demonstrate an outstanding scholarly record of research, exhibited by high-impact peer-reviewed publications and a forward-looking, vigorous research agenda that has been continually securing competitive, external funding. The successful candidate will have the ability to work with interdisciplinary teams of interprofessional researchers across clinical and academic settings.
2. The candidate is expected to engage in high-quality teaching and mentoring. .
3. The candidate is expected to actively participate in service at the school, campus, community, and professional levels.
Basic Qualifications
PhD is required. While a PhD in Nursing Science is preferred, candidates who have earned a PhD in a related field (e.g. public health, health sciences, psychology, sociology) will be considered.
A successful history of external funding (e.g., NIH, HRSA, NLN, PCORI) is strongly preferred.
Appointment to academic rank and salary are dependent on evidence of scholarly, teaching and service achievements.
