The Superintendent invites qualified and interested persons to apply for the position of Instructional Specialist for Science.
DEFINITION: Newark Board of Education seeks an Instructional Specialist- Science- to work with the NBOE Office of Teaching and Learning in supporting key initiatives and programs- namely the v-lab program with Students 2 Science.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three to five or more years of experience with comparable work.
- Master's degree in education or related field preferred.
- New Jersey Permanent Teacher of Science Certificate or equivalent from another state.
- Experience in standard STEM laboratory practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Instructional Specialist for Science will support the work of the Department of Teaching and Learning in a number of ways including:
Coordinate Students 2 Science V-Lab Programming
- Facilitate V-Labs daily with NBOE schools
- Align V-Lab content and schedules to the science curriculum
Develop new V-Lab content that is consistent with the vision of the Office of Science
Manage the V-Lab materials library
Assist with V-Lab program evaluation

COMPENSATION
SALARY, EMPLOYMENT PERIOD AND UNION AFFILIATION
Salary: $71,794-$125,971
Employment Period: Twelve (12) Months
Union Affiliation: NTU
