The University of Chicago's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience is searching for a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor. The appointee will primarily be responsible for evaluating patients, assisting primary teams in the development of treatment plans, and providing ongoing care as indicated. The Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist will be responsible for communicating and collaborating with medical and surgical colleagues to optimize patient care. The appointee will provide clinical leadership in interdisciplinary collaboration with all members of the multidisciplinary team. Outpatient opportunities will include the supervision of a medical-psychiatric clinic. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent upon qualifications.
The University of Chicago's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience will play a key role in expanding clinical services, teaching, research programs and innovative population health initiatives in Consult-Liaison Psychiatry. Building on a strong foundation of clinical excellence, the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist will join other specialty trained psychiatrists in leading a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based consultation to hospitalized patients.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be Board certified or eligible in General Psychiatry, and 4) have residency training in Adult Psychiatry.
