We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Data Scientist to join our team as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Washington, DC. This role is critical to supporting intelligence missions by leveraging advanced data analytics, machine learning, and AI techniques to derive actionable insights from complex datasets. As a recognized leader in the field, the Data Scientist SME will play a pivotal role in guiding the development and implementation of data-driven strategies. Responsibilities & other details are listed below:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the application of data analytics, data engineering, data mining, and predictive analysis to complex intelligence datasets, providing critical insights and recommendations.
• Design and implement machine learning models and AI tools that automate and enhance data processing, analysis, and decision-making processes.
• Conduct deep exploratory analysis of large, multi-source intelligence datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable intelligence.
• Develop and refine AI-based tools and algorithms, such as recommendation engines and predictive analytics systems, to support mission objectives.
• Utilize advanced data visualization techniques and tools like Python, R, and Tableau to present complex data in a clear and actionable format for stakeholders.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and intelligence officers, to ensure the effective integration of data science methodologies into broader mission objectives.
• Provide strategic advice and technical guidance on the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and AI to drive innovation and enhance operational capabilities.

ELIGIBILITY & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's degree in data science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Extensive experience (typically over 10 years) in data science, with a focus on applying advanced analytics and machine learning in intelligence or defense environments.
• Expert-level proficiency in data science languages (e.g., Python, R), machine learning frameworks, data mining algorithms, and data visualization tools.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects, mentor junior staff, and provide thought leadership in data science and analytics.
• Strong understanding of multi-INT analytics, AI ethics, and data governance.
• Proven track record of developing and deploying AI/ML tools that have significantly impacted mission outcomes.
• Must possess an active Top Secret (TS) SCI clearance.
