The Office of the Title IX Coordinator at the University of Washington is responsible for implementing and ensuring compliance with Title IX and other laws and guidance regarding sex- and gender-based discrimination across all UW campuses, medical centers & clinics, and anywhere the UW does business or provides learning opportunities. To prevent and address sex discrimination and sex-based harassment, and to comply with federal law, the UW must address every report and request for support or modification because of pregnancy or related conditions.

Under the direction of the Deputy Title IX Coordinator, the Manager of Intake & Support oversees a team responsible for the intake and case management of concerns reported to the Office of the Title IX Coordinator involving sex discrimination, sex- and gender-based violence and harassment, and requests for support and modification related to pregnancy or related conditions. The incumbent assesses incoming reports for safety concerns, policy applicability, and jurisdiction, assigns reports to team members for outreach, and elevates complex situations for Title IX Coordinator review. The Manager of Intake & Support is a working manager, maintaining their caseload while supervising and supporting the intake and case management team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Leadership and team management
Manage the day-to-day operations of the intake specialist and case manager team, including assigning reports, coordinating workflow, overseeing case management responsibilities, and facilitating meetings.
Directly supervise the intake specialist and case managers, provide training and professional development opportunities, complete performance evaluations, and implement any corrective action when needed
Provide leadership and oversight of intake and case management projects related to process improvements and workflow enhancements
Identify and implement process changes related to best practices or legal compliance and/or resolving internal or external workflow concerns
Present information or deliver training to enhance awareness and understanding of Title IX policies, procedures, protocols, and activities
Represent the Office of the Title IX Coordinator on committees and in other forums, occasionally on weekends or evenings
Establish, cultivate, and maintain effective working relationships with related UW partner units and organizations at all UW locations

Intake and case management
Provide ongoing consultation to intake specialists and case managers to assist in addressing reports and evolving situations
Maintain independent caseload responsibilities, including outreach and providing support, resolution options, resources, and updates
Facilitate referrals to other University resources
Manage and coordinate ongoing supportive measure requests and adjustments
Facilitate appeals related to supportive measures and pregnancy modifications

Assessment of reports
Assess incoming reports for safety concerns and implement strategies to mitigate risk and ensure community and individual safety
Collaborate with key partners to address safety concerns
Assess incoming reports for policy applicability and university jurisdiction, and assign reports for initial response and follow up
Consult with the Title IX Coordinator or Deputy, as well as legal counsel, campus partners, and unit leadership regarding complex reports and subsequent impacts

Administration
Oversee intake and case management report status and records protocols to ensure timely creation, update, and closure of cases in the case management system, and entry of relevant case notes and documentation for Clery reporting
Assist with compiling data for Title IX-related reports; prepare case management data on a quarterly basis and Clery reporting data monthly; assist in regular data analysis in preparation for the Title IX Biennial Report
Other duties as assigned

Lead Responsibilities:

Reviews incoming reports and supervises the daily operations and workflow for the intake and case management team

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Provide functional leadership, lead team as directed, and supervise the intake specialist and case managers (3.0 FTE)

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in social work, public administration/policy, education, or related field
Four years of accumulated professional experience
Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for a degree while also demonstrating comparable knowledge and skills
1-2 years of progressively responsible leadership/management experience; demonstrated commitment to developing others to become leaders
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience managing multiple assignments and priorities effectively
Demonstrated experience in working on diverse groups and teams; respects, values, and contributes to Compliance and Risk Services and the UW's commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity

Desired:
Experience interpreting and applying Title IX, VAWA (Violence Against Women Act), and/or Title VII policy/legal standards
Experience in managing projects, focusing on process improvement and organizational alignment
Experience working in higher education
Primary prevention or response experience in the areas of sex- and gender-based discrimination, harassment, and violence
Experience in the field of threat assessment including knowledge of threat assessment concepts, models, and/or instruments
Experience with case management software
Experience providing public presentations or group training
Demonstrated ability to handle highly sensitive matters with discretion and good judgment
Master's degree in public or higher education administration, policy, or related field
