Machine Vision Engineer

Position Type/Hours:
Full-time, in-Office position. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST.
Position Purpose:
This position is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing machine vision systems for quality inspections and for improving machine performance.
Essential Functions:
- Design machine vision systems tailored to specific applications and requirements.
- Develop algorithms for image processing, object detection, recognition, tracking, and classification.
- Integrate machine vision solutions with existing hardware and software infrastructure.
- Select appropriate cameras, lenses, and lighting setups for optimal image capture.
- Develop calibration procedures to ensure accurate measurements and correct lens distortions.
- Integrate machine vision systems with robotics, automation equipment, or other hardware components.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation to ensure system performance meets requirements and specifications.
- Document design specifications, algorithms, and implementation details.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project status, results, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical and mechanical engineers.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance during system deployment and operation.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in machine vision software like Cognex, Matrox, and Keyence.
- 5 years' experience in computer vision, image processing, and machine learning, vision control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development tools.
