BAE Systems is looking for a Principal Process Engineer for their Austin, TX facility. In this role you will perform the following tasks.
- Provide Process Engineering floor support, guidance, and instruction to operators in support of Circuit Card manufacturing.
- Perform manufacturing support activities using technical knowledge of generally used assembly practices ensuring the achievement of performance within cost and schedule requirements.
- Support/Lead factory continuous improvement activities and projects.
- Develop robust processes and validate new equipment.
- Oversee process machinery and develop sound programs or methods.
- Create and maintain process documents that will be followed on the factory floor and production routes for material moving through the factory.
- Support Preliminary Material Review/Material Review Board (PMR/MRB) for the disposition of discrepant material and determination of root cause/corrective action. Ensure timely disposition of hardware and assure thorough root cause analysis of discrepant materials.
- Perform quality audits of hardware, PFMEA's, First Article Inspections (FAI), monitor defects, and track trends.

Required Skills and Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and 8 years of experience, or in lieu of a degree a minimum of 12 years of progressive electronics manufacturing experience.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision and demonstrate leadership necessary to support the manufacturing team.
- Strong Electronics Manufacturing Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) aptitude.
- Ability to present and clearly communicate data to peers, management, and customers.
Preferred Skills and Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and 10 years of experience, or in lieu of a degree a minimum of 15 years of progressive electronics manufacturing experience.
- Six-Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt and/or Lean Manufacturing training or knowledge.
- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- SMT Equipment and Programming knowledge
- Equipment validation and capital expenditures knowledge
- Automated Optical and X-Ray inspection
- Experience with CCA cleaning and conformal coating processes
- Performs Preliminary Material Review/Material Review Board (PMR/MRB) for the disposition of discrepant material
- Root Cause and Corrective Action methodology
- IPC-A-610 / IPC-A-620 / J-STD-001
- Data Collection and Analysis
