For Manager Manufacturing WIP (Work in Process) will be responsible for the flow control strategies and principles while simultaneously accommodating a majority of process scenarios in order to support a multi shift, high volume WIP management strategy through a team of Managers and Supervisors in final assembly.

What you'll do as a Manager Manufacturing WIP (Work in Process):

  • Monitor the operations to ensure they are following health and safety standards
  • Daily management of all paper processing operations
  • Develop and execute strategies to optimize performance to ensure that all customer requirements including new product introduction, schedule adherence, quality, and cost requirements are met or exceeded.
  • Facilitate effective verbal and written communications with auxiliary team members
  • Monitor output to ensure production standards are met or exceeded
  • Develop and implement yearly goals and assist in developing the fiscal budget in areas of responsibility, including manning, capital expenditures, and training.
  • Align the WIP department and Union work force, their jobs, activities, tasks, resources and objectives with broader organizational missions, visions, values, and goals. Ensure that assigned resources are effectively utilized in the effectuation of ELM Site strategies.
  • Collaborate with Senior Staff to develop annual budgets. Review and analyze production and operational reports, and other performance data to measure productivity, evaluate achievement, and initiate corrective actions with respect to production goals, including schedule adherence, Quality, SH&E, and cost requirements.
  • Leverage continuous improvement methodology, develop and implement action plans, contingencies, and countermeasures designed to optimize operational performance and meet KPI's, SGD objectives and financial targets.
  • Develop and monitor team goals and objectives, ensuring the integrity of manufacturing materials inventory, materials logistics and production reporting transactions in SAP.
  • Develop and monitor team goals and objectives, ensuring the integrity of Union Factory Payroll and attendance in timekeeping software.
  • Facilitate effective verbal and written communications with auxiliary team members; Final Assembly, Maintenance, Receiving, Shipping, Planning, Purchasing, Engineering and Quality.
  • Utilizing the ERP system, develop daily, weekly, by shift based on proper coordination of customer requirements, materials availability, tooling requirements, machine capacity, production run time, and workforce, and deploy staff accordingly.
  • Oversee the hiring, orienting, and training of employees to ensure a competent workforce
  • Maintain a high standard of employee relations to ensure that the organization is the employer of choice and employees are aware of their obligations
  • Provide training and coach employees when necessary
  • Review personnel performance to determine individuals most suited for promotion.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as required or requested


We're looking for a Manager Manufacturing WIP (Work in Process) with:
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in a Supervisory or Manager role within a manufacturing union environment
  • Experience with Lockout/Tagout; commitment to safety and adherence to safety guidelines
  • Software experience, including MS Office (Word, Excel) as well as ERP Software, preferably SAP
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Analytical problem-solving skills
  • Conflict Resolution Skills
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus

Physical requirements and working conditions:

Our manufacturing Plant is comprised of enclosed office and manufacturing space. This position requires the ability to:
  • Lift / push / pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to twist, reach, and bend
  • Move throughout the entire facility to attend to various issues
  • Work effectively in teams across functional groups with strong communication skills and the ability to lead
  • Perform sedentary work on various computer systems
  • This Manager Manufacturing WIP (Work in Process) position is located on-site in our East Longmeadow facility.
