Job Summary:

The E-commerce Director is responsible for leading and optimizing the company's online sales and digital presence. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to increase site traffic, enhance conversion rates, and boost online sales. The E-commerce Director will oversee SEO, website optimization, media buying, retention, email marketing, copywriting, product launch strategy, and all analytics to drive revenue growth and enhance the digital customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive e-commerce strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives. Identify growth opportunities and market trends to maximize revenue.
  • SEO: Oversee and implement SEO strategies to improve organic search rankings and increase site traffic.
  • Website Optimization and Checkout Process: Ensure website optimization for performance, speed, and user experience across all devices. Optimize the checkout process to reduce cart abandonment rates and enhance the overall user experience, ensuring a smooth and secure transaction process.
  • Digital Marketing and Media Buying: Lead digital marketing efforts, including media buying and retargeting strategies, to maximize ROI. Work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute campaigns that drive traffic and conversions.
  • Email Marketing & SMS: Develop and manage email and SMS marketing strategies to nurture leads, engage customers, and drive repeat purchases. Analyze campaign performance and optimize for better results.
  • Copywriting: Oversee the creation of compelling copy for the website, product descriptions, email campaigns, and digital ads to effectively communicate brand messaging and value propositions.
  • Product Launch Strategy: Collaborate with product development and merchandising teams to plan and execute successful product launches. Develop go-to-market strategies that maximize product visibility and sales.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Utilize analytics tools to monitor site performance, traffic, conversion rates, and other key metrics. Provide regular reports and insights to senior management, along with data-driven recommendations for improvement. Ensure all analytical systems are reporting accurately.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a cross-functional team, including digital marketers, web developers, and other relevant roles. Foster a collaborative environment and provide ongoing training and development.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the e-commerce budget, including forecasting, allocating resources, and controlling costs to ensure profitability.
  • Technology and Innovation: Stay updated with the latest e-commerce trends, tools, and technologies. Identify and implement new features and innovations that can enhance the e-commerce experience and drive sales.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 8 - 10 years experience required. A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, E-commerce, or a related field and/ or a master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience as an E-commerce Director or in a similar leadership role within an e-commerce environment.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms, SEO, digital marketing, media buying, email marketing, and analytics tools.

  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
