POSITION SUMMARY

The Operational Excellence Manager is responsible for ensuring that AirLife's distribution center operations run smoothly and efficiently in alignment with our global company strategy. Primary responsibilities include:
  • Developing strategies: Create strategies to improve operational performance, such as plans to optimize production processes, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Monitoring and evaluating: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of strategies, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Change Management: Using Lean Six Sigma methodology, develop process improvement plans, implement changes and monitor progress.
  • Apply industry trends and best practices to ensure effective solutions are implemented and adopted locally and globally.
  • Program Management: Lead the implementation and ongoing support of the OE program and tools across the AirLife distribution network.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and primary resource on all aspects of Operational Excellence principles, concepts, and practices
  • Training staff: Educate and mentor employees on how to work according to the methodology; effectively onboard new staff
  • Challenging the status quo: Respectfully challenge the status quo to drive improvements through best practice replication, creative solutions, and resource planning.
  • Accelerating technological advancements: Accelerate the implementation of technological advancements and contribute to the technical and process knowledge of operational leaders

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

The specific minimum competencies needed to perform the essential duties of the job include knowledge, skills, abilities, level of education, and experience necessary for successful performance. These competencies are generally demonstrated through specific service, education, or training.

Knowledge:
  • Experienced leader with Lean six sigma / process improvement / operational excellence experience (black belt preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Project Management processes and methodology
  • Experience working in a growing, dynamic environment where integrations are prevalent
  • Strong knowledge of Industrial engineering and proven application

Level of Experience:
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in supply chain positions, preferably in the medical device industry
  • Lean six sigma / process improvement / operational excellence experience (black belt preferred)
  • Proven experience in creating and implementing warehouse layout and design

Level of Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering preferred. Advanced Certifications through Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM), American Purchasing Society (APS) preferred, or Institute for Supply Management.
