GENERAL SUMMARY
The analyst must have a legislative or policy support services experience; providing advisory and analysis to key government officials.
PURPOSE
Support provided will be to HHS Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Human Services, Emergency Preparedness and Response (OHSEPR).
The analyst will provide support in ensuring the effectiveness of human services in preparedness, response, and recovery from disasters and public health
emergencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The analyst will provide support in ensuring the effectiveness of human services in preparedness, response, and recovery from disasters and public health emergencies. Support will include:
Examine legislation initiatives that affect ACF programs and provide detailed reports regarding potential impact - human and material
Develop disaster human service policy
Coordinate and collaborate with organizations within ACF and throughout the federal government focusing on disaster human service mission development
Support OHSEPR policy agenda by developing and reviewing proposed legislation and proposals related to human services and disasters
Draft reports to Congress, as well as responses to Congressional inquiries, Inspector General (IG) investigations, and Government Accountability Office (GAO)
investigations and reports
Support monitoring and oversight of IG and GAO investigations
Support intra and interagency coordination within
the Federal, state, and local government space
Collaborate closely with various stakeholders internal and external to the Office of Human Services Preparedness and Response, to include ACF programs, OGC, SMEs, and subject matter experts
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal relations skills
Superior time management, organization and prioritization skills
Ability to build and maintain relationship with internal employees as well as outside sources
Excellent attention to detail
EXPERIENCE
Five years of experience performing policy and legislative analysis, research, quantitative and qualitative analyses, and technical writing support.
EDUCATION
Master's degree in public, private paralegal studies, or business policy.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMEN
Public Trust or have the background to obtain a Public Trust
