Basic Purpose of the Position

Evapco's Global EHS Programs Manager is responsible for developing and deploying Evapco's EHS programs and procedures to drive standardization and harmonization across the company's global footprint. This successful candidate will collaborate cross functionally at all levels of the organization to ensure EHS programs are developed with stakeholder input and deployed effectively to ensure organizational adoption.

Major Areas of Responsibility
  • Develop and deploy a strategy / roadmap for the maturation of EHS programs and procedures that can be effectively implemented across domestic and international operational footprint.
  • Apply lean manufacturing and management system principles to the development and deployment of EHS programs to drive effective, efficient, and scalable implementation.
  • Possess a working knowledge of a wide breadth of EHS topics and regulatory topics (OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, Workers Compensation, etc.) and act as a subject matter expert (SME) where possible to support site EHS team members as needed in support of resolving internal and external compliance issues.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with site operations and corporate functions to harmonize EHS program deployment to ensure stakeholder engagement while optimizing standardization efforts.
  • Conduct EHS program audits of facilities and corporate EHS programs to pinpoint EHS program weaknesses and develop sound recommendations for systemic corrective actions.
  • Develop and deploy EHS related training to ensure effective awareness and adoption of EHS programs.
  • Update management on the status of Evapco's EHS programs through regular reporting and the development of relevant metrics.
  • Provide direction and guidance regarding implementation and maintenance of EHS related programs including but not limited to: energy control (Lock-Out/Tag-Out), arc flash, hazard communication, machine guarding, Fall Protection, Powered Industrial Trucks, Crane and Hoists, Environmental programs (waste, stormwater, wastewater, air emissions), new employee safety indoctrination, fall protection, hearing protection, PPE Assessment, crane safety, fire drills, ammonia safety programs/ammonia emergency response team, first-aid teams, safety committees.

Knowledge, Skills, & Experience
  • +10 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
  • +3 years of relevant EHS leadership experience in a multi-site / regional role preferred with demonstrated experience developing and deploying EHS programs (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in an EHS related field of study (preferred)
  • Systems-based thinker that can architect sustainable EHS programs that are reinforced with management system principals (plan, do, check, act)
  • Ability to balance big picture, strategic thinking with tactical expertise.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills to work within Microsoft Office Suite (SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • Ability to engage stakeholders to gain consensus and influence others to achieve results.
  • Ability to analyze data while remaining comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Ability to navigate change and resolve conflict in a professional manner
  • Experience conducting audits and developing action plans to address findings.
  • Ability to summarize complex ideas and programs down to simple concepts that can be digested and understood to gain buy in.
  • Develop EHS training content for various EHS programs with learning objectives, engaging content, and summarize and lead others to execute safety training.
  • Exhibit strong leadership, program development and project management skills.
  • Experience developing leading and lagging metrics to effectively monitor and measure EHS performance indicators.
  • Fundamental knowledge and understanding of the following preferred:
    • 29 CFR 1910 OSHA General Industry
    • 49 CFR DOT
    • 40 CFR EPA


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

The position is based in Taneytown MD and works closely with all site EHS personnel. Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally (<25%)
