The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining the network infrastructure that supports our operational technology systems. This includes industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA systems, and other critical infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure the availability, integrity, and security of our OT networks, which are essential for our day-to-day operations.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess 5-7 years of I.T. and O.T. experience (Network Support, Systems Engineering, Systems Administration) and must have proven ability with MP Materials core technologies.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement network architectures for OT environments, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security.
  • Work closely with cybersecurity teams to implement security measures and monitor OT networks for security threats.
  • Collaborate with OT system operators and IT personnel to ensure seamless integration between IT and OT networks.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for network configurations, procedures, and security measures.
  • Maintain and update asset inventory
  • Diagnose issues on routers/switches/gateways/firewalls etc.
  • Conduct regular network performance monitoring and troubleshooting to resolve issues as they arise.
  • Stay up to date with the latest in network security standards, technology, and trends, particularly those relevant to OT environments.
  • Provide training and support to OT staff on network operations and security best practices.
  • Manage user accounts and access permissions
  • Perform logical moves, adds and changes for network devices.
  • Perform upgrades, patching and maintenance of network devices.
  • Issue escalation to senior engineers and third-party vendors (ISP, Cisco, Dell, VMWare, etc.)

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on OT networks or industrial control systems.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, Ethernet) and industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, OPC).
  • Experience with network security practices, tools, and technologies in an OT context.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity challenges and best practices related to OT environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications in networking (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CCIE) or cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, GICSP).
  • Experience with wireless communication technologies and their application in OT environments.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements related to OT cybersecurity (e.g., NERC CIP, IEC 62443).
  • Familiarity with Rockwell and Siemens
