POSITION TITLE: Director
ASSIGNMENT: Director of FDLRS Discretionary Project
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree preferred in Administration/Supervision, Educational Leadership, or related area appropriate to the assignment; when deemed appropriate, a bachelor's degree with ten years experience in a job-related area may be a satisfactory substitute Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a professional educator or experience in a field related directly to assignment; preference for administrative experience Valid Florida Driver's License and means of transportation Satisfactory clearance of a criminal history records check and drug screening
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Physical requirements to perform essential functions and tasks which may include exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds of force as frequently a necessary; lifting, crawling, kneeling, bending, stooping, pulling, and pushing, if required Certification and minimum of five (5) years demonstrated successful experience in any field of Exceptional Student Education Knowledge of or experience in budgeting Knowledge of and experience in utilizing community services Demonstrated ability to organize data and prepare reports in an efficient manner Demonstrated ability to work with all stakeholders Experience in supervision and evaluation of staff or others
PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITITES:
Participates in assessing the needs of consumers and customers in all districts in the service area consistent with the priorities outlined in the Project Outcomes in the Project Contract. Responsible for the overall implementation of project activities and the daily management of the center. Coordinates center activities to ensure equitable services based on BEESS initiatives, as appropriate, and the approved project application including the budget. Reports to Coordinating Council for program activities and the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services for administrative functions. Schedules meetings that support adherence to the calendars developed by the Coordinating Council and center manager. Facilitates meetings of the Coordinating Council. Manages project activities and budget as reflected in the approved Project Contract from, DOE/BEESS Project Tracking System database tool, training outcomes database, Children's Registry and Information System (CHRIS) database, and these guidelines. Ensure the DOE/BEESS Project Tracking System database tool, training outcomes, and CHRIS databases are maintained and accessible by BEESS. Supervises and evaluate all project staff. Notifies the Department of Education's FDLRS function contact of vacancies by providing a dated copy of posting of all vacancies as they occur. An electronic notification should be sent to the BEESS Project Liaison for FDLRS or his/her designee. Evaluates center operations to determine the effectiveness of meeting the service needs identified by consumers and the coordinating council across all districts in the service area and all four functions, and consistent with the priorities outlined in the Project Outcomes in the Project Contract. Facilitates planning for and preparation of the project application in concurrence with BEESS and the Coordinating Council and other stake-holders based on formal needs assessment related to priorities outlined in the Project Outcomes in the Project Contract. Ensures formal needs assessment related to priorities outlined in the Project Outcomes in the Project Contract be performed at least annually across all districts in the service area and all four functions prior to development of the project application. Outcomes will be reflected in the DOE/BEESS Project Tracking System database tool, training outcomes database and CHRIS databases. Provides regular updates for the Coordinating Council and FDLRS regional contacts regarding center functioning and budget. Participates in network activities, including attending required Department of Education (DOE) meetings. Assures there is a job description and staff assignments for each FDLRS function. Ensures services by qualified staff are available across all FDLRS functions on a 12-month basis. Ensures 75% of time/funding allocated to project management duties and responsibilities. Ensures fiscally responsible management of project dollars including implementation of cost-efficient strategies and sensitivity to multiple personnel attending events other than function specific meetings. Performs such other duties as assigned by the Coordinating Council and FDLRS Administration and/or BEESS
TERM:
Twelve months, eight hours daily as determined by project and job requirements

Performance will be appraised annually in accordance with School Board policies

According to the School Board of Highlands County Administrative Salary Schedule
