Position Summary:

The Project Controller will be responsible for overseeing project financials and collaborating with the program manager, contracts, and finance and accounting to ensure effective management of budgets and costs, for government contracts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project controls within the government contracting sector, with expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Management:
    • Assist program managers in the development of project budgets, cost estimates, forecasts, and financial plans.
    • Monitor and analyze project expenditures to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.
    • Conduct regular cost analysis and report on variances.
    • Participate in contract kick-off meetings to ensure accurate and complete project setup in Costpoint.

  • Reporting and Documentation:

    • Prepare detailed financial and performance reports for program managers to present to senior management and government clients.
    • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of financial transactions, project changes, and cost impacts.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with government regulations, financial contract terms, and internal policies.
    • Identify potential risks related to project financials.
  • Contract Management
    • Prepare Task Orders and other funding documents for subcontractors and consultants
    • Validate funding documents from customers and ensure Costpoint is updated appropriately.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with project managers, finance teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and financial performance.
    • Provide guidance and support to project teams on financial matters.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Evaluate and enhance project control processes and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
    • Stay updated on industry best practices and incorporate relevant methodologies into project controls.

  • Qualifications:
    • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
    • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of project control or financial management experience within the government contracting sector. Proven experience in managing complex projects with large budgets.
    • Skills:
      • Proficiency in project management software and financial management tools.
      • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
      • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.

      • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
      • Proactive and adaptable in a dynamic work environment.
