Description:
Job Title: Agile Release Train Engineer
Duties: As an Agile Release Train Eng., your role is to facilitate and optimize the Agile Release Train, ensuring the effective coordination, communication, and delivery of value across multiple teams within an organization.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the successful execution of one or more Release Trains comprised of multiple Scrum teams to support the delivery of strategic technology products, leading the agile transformation and promoting agile maturity.
Serves as the organizational leader and facilitator for program events and activities for planning, executing, delivery and improvement, such as Program Increment (PI) Planning readiness and PI Planning events and activities.
Mentors and coaches Scrum Masters.
Guides design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with customer and stakeholder value streams.
Manages and optimizes the flow of value of the Agile Release Train using a variety of tools and methods to ensure strategy and execution alignment.
Collaborate with the appropriate individuals to translate business strategy into technology strategy and ensure that capabilities required by the business are enabled.
Acts as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.
Works on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious. Escalate and track key ART metrics, to include impediments and execution. Drive relentless improvement activities and events.
Resolving/reporting issues and managing dependencies and risks across the ART and between ARTs.
Performs functional allocation to identify required tasks and their interrelationships.
The Agile Release Train Eng. will work on projects supporting engineering excellence, production services, and operations. They will be working with 2-8 project teams depending on the scope of the projects.
The hiring leader's preference is for this individual to have the ability to work a hybrid schedule at the St. Louis, MO, or Tempe, AZ. The hiring leader is open to fully remote candidates located outside of those two areas, but preference will be given to the latter. Regardless of location, this individual will be required to work CST hours.
This request has the potential for both extension and conversion.
Technical acumen is paramount for success in this role. This individual will need to have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex and technical information to a variety of different stakeholders with differing knowledge and experience. This individual must be flexible with the ability to meet people where they are in their capabilities, particularly as it relates to tools such as Jira and Aha!, as well as Agile methodologies and processes about which they will need to have an almost expert level of experience, knowledge, and understanding.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience required.
Agile leadership experience with proven Agile and facilitation skills.
Experience with Agile methodologies; Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Program consultant (SPC) or Release Train Eng. (RTE) certification strongly preferred, some level of SAFe certification required.
