The East Texas Advanced Academies Chief of Schools works in collaboration with the ETAA CEO to lead day-to-day operations for East Texas Montessori Prep Academy (ETMPA); JL Everhart Elementary (JLE); Bramlette STEAM Academy (BSTEAM); Ware East Texas Montessori Prep Academy (Ware); Johnston-McQueen Elementary (JMQ); and Forest Park Middle School (FPMS).
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master's Degree in education-related field.
Valid Principal or Superintendent Certification.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proven track record of interacting and communicating appropriately and professionally.
Proven track record of developing personnel and solving complex organizational problems.
Experience:
Five (5) years' experience as Principal, District-level Administrator, or Superintendent plus five (5) years' experience as Classroom Teacher.
Three (3) years' IB Diploma Programme, Middle Years Programme, and/or Primary Years Programme experience.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Advises the CEO on all aspects of daily campus operations, performance and problems.
2. Oversee academic processes and general operations of ETAA Longview schools.
3. Assists CEO in implementation of and compliance with ETAA contract with Longview ISD.
4. Assists CEO in development and delivery of required reports and updates as specified in the ETAA contract with Longview ISD.
5. Assists the CEO in the preparation and delivery of academic updates for ETAA Longview schools to the ETAA Board.
6. Conducts TPESS annual evaluations of Longview school principals/heads of schools.
7. Facilitates collaboration among ETAA schools and other schools within Longview ISD.
8. Supports employees in implementation of International Baccalaureate programs and operations.
9. Aligns curriculum, instruction, and assessment to Longview ISD and ETAA objectives, standards and practices.
10. Aligns curriculum, instruction, and assessment to International Baccalaureate standards and practices.
11. Aligns International Baccalaureate programs with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills and STAAR.
12. Oversees administration of Iowa Tests of Basic Skills for ETAA Longview schools.
13. Oversees development and administration of interim assessments for ETAA Longview schools.
14. Utilizes data effectively to improve student performance.
15. Ensures up-to-date professional development for ETAA administrators, faculty, and staff.
16. Attends all ETAA and LISD Regular Board Meetings and provides ETAA updates to the Longview ISD Board of Trustees as needed.
17. Provides ETAA campus information to Longview ISD Superintendent when requested.
18. Exhibits excellent leadership and effective collaboration with other key leaders.
19. Other duties as assigned by ETAA CEO.
