General Manager

The General Manager will be responsible for the leadership of our Linamar Forging Carolinas, Inc facilities in North Carolina. In this position you will be responsible for developing and implementing operational plans that align with the company strategy, overseeing business processes such as production and finance, and analyzing operational efficiency.

Performance Expectations

• Monitor and oversee the production performance of the manufacturing facilities.
• Develop operational plans that promote long-term success and growth for the facilities.
• Work closely with the finance team to develop financial and budgetary plans.
• Monitor operational systems and work with the management team on recommendations for solutions and process improvements.
• Oversee customer support and retention processes to ensure that customer demands are met.
• Monitor and follow up on workforce requirements for future programs for the efficient operation of the plants.
• Implement and maintain the principles of the Company's cost control system.
• Ensure facilities have the mentorship support to sustain our growth requirements.
• Provide input on quotations for future contracts.
• Ensure the execution of Linamar's Lean Principals relating to the manufacturing processes.
• Maintain regular contact with the Linamar Corporate office on issues such as Government Legislation or similar governing bodies.

Credentials

• A university degree or college diploma in manufacturing, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Courses in Business or Finance would be considered an asset.
• Extensive leadership experience managing multiple manufacturing facilities.

Desired Characteristics

• A minimum or 10 years of experience in a high volume and fast paced environment with a preference for those with machining and automotive experience.
• In-depth knowledge of diverse business functions and evaluating metrics.
• Must have considerable experience working directly with customers and suppliers.
• Proven ability to manage finances and budgets.
• Excellent business acumen with the ability to stay updated on current industry, business, and technical trends.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and various types of software, such as customer relationship management and data analysis software.
