POSITION SUMMARY:

We are TNPI. And you could be too! As an integral member of the Products Movement team, the Scheduler will be the primary contact for shipper's supply. You will be accountable for ensuring smooth logistics and operation by coordinating supply and schedule movements of refined products from source shipper to destination meter stations on all line segments within our Eastern and Western pipeline systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Schedule pipeline product movements ensuring pumping rates and volumes meet shipper's supply, containment and time constraints.
  • Coordinate parallel project execution, where resources permit, to maximize efficient utilization of available line time.
  • Manage breakout tankage inventories by adjusting scheduled rates and volumes.
  • Adjust schedules to facilitate hydraulic conditions or down time required for pipeline and facility maintenance, repair, planned and unplanned line outages in addition to integrity activities.
  • Create and maintain pumping windows to accommodate TN jet movements and outside pipeline deliveries to shared delivery facilities while assuring quality management through scheduled testing and related administration for the TNPI Aviation Standard.
  • Manage jet fuel inventory levels by adjusting pipeline delivery schedules or facilitating a change in draw volume by Menzies Aviation.
  • Allocate available monthly line space, accounting for project and maintenance line time requirements to create a master schedule for each pipeline system dividing monthly accepted volume into five (5) rateable cycles.
  • Administer distribution of unused accepted line space to other shippers on a cycle-by-cycle basis.
  • Reconcile all shipper firm-ups/nominations considering product source, volumes, and destinations for each schedule as well as provide each shipper with a list of individual tender numbers and volumes.
  • Calculate adjusted line capacity and issue a monthly volume apportionment to Alberta Products Pipe Line (APPL) shippers.
  • Assess product fungibility and availability of break out tankage in respect to incurred reductions in pipeline capacity.
  • Advise shippers of any required volume reductions to maintain rateability or compensate for incurred capacity reductions.
  • Prepare weekly briefs pertaining to Product Movements for the leadership team.
  • Review project plans with Engineering and Field Services to ensure project timing does not conflict with other maintenance, project requirements, reduce impact on the pipeline schedule and shipper product supply.
  • Manage jet fuel inventory at DV (Trudeau International), TA (Pearson International) and CAT (Calgary International) terminals by tracking daily inventories vs projections and adjusting jet delivery schedules accordingly.
  • Support Accounting and management in reconciling monthly over/under or ticketing issues.
  • Provide support in incident investigations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must-haves (minimum requirements):
  • 6 years of position related experience with a strong aptitude for mathematics.
  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Analytics, Accounting, or other equivalent education.
  • Knowledge of Petroleum quality standards and characteristics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions.
  • Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills with flexibility in accommodating changes.
  • Solid intermediate level proficiency with Excel.

Preference for:
  • 5 years or more experience as a Senior Line Controller or pipelines industry operations or supply expertise.
  • An Accounting Certification.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
  • This position is based out of the Richmond Hill office, located at 310-45 Vogell Road.
  • Hours of work are a regular 35-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours and on-call support based on business needs.
