What You'll Do
Drive cloud cost optimization by implementing frameworks, processes, and solutions across multiple cloud platforms.
Implement and manage automated tools to help identify cost trends, anomalies, and track budget (actuals vs estimates)
Participate in application/ resource review (architectural design) to ensure adherence to cost savings wherever applicable.
Provide expert knowledge on cloud cost optimization strategies (rightsizing, scheduling, decommissioning etc.)
Ability to architect solutions befitting various applications and their needs. This includes public cloud, IaaS, PaaS, and on-premises applications.
Lead application teams through cost optimization (Well-Architected Framework)
Collaborate with Engineering teams to implement solutions.
Support adoption and compliance of cost initiatives across the enterprise.
Maintain several information repositories to include Confluence and SharePoint environments.
What You'll Need
Ideal candidate will have at least 5-7 years of experience of general cloud experience, and at least 2 years of cost optimization experience within cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or GCP.
Experience leveraging native and 3rd party cloud cost optimization tools such as Azure/ GCP Billing, Cloudability, KubeCost etc.
This is a 2 layer role:
Scripting skills and working experience with Infrastructure as Code
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A passion for keeping up to date with the latest cloud trends and technologies.
Some familiarity with deployment/automation/management tools such as Docker, Terraform, K8s, Azure AKS, and Rancher (preferred)
Some experience with Cloud Automation, orchestration, and configuration management tools (preferred)
Would prefer someone in or around Cincinnati. Otherwise would need to be near one of the hubs
Prescreen consists of 3 questions the manager would like all candidates to complete
This person will work with Cloud FinOps software(cloudability, cloudhealth, native cloud tools), Line of business contacts, and Finance to identify areas of opportunity in Azure and GCP for cloud spend reduction through avenues like committed use, unused hardware, use efficiency and old environments.
