We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to join ADARx Pharmaceuticals as a Patent Agent or Attorney to help meet our fast-growing intellectual property needs. This position will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications.

Responsibilities
Prepare and prosecute patent applications, focusing on chemical modifications and drug substances.
Responsible for identifying patentable inventions through frequent interactions with project teams at all stages of R&D.
Responsible for patentability analyses of inventions and advisability of filing patent applications covering those inventions.
Work with outside IP counsel to achieve positive, practical outcomes and obtain advice regarding related risks and opportunities, as needed.
Responsible for freedom-to-operate analyses and preparation of opinions with the focus on chemistry related topics.
Support IP diligence and provide other IP support for business development opportunities.
Conduct searches for competitive IP and, together with project teams and the leadership team, help monitor, evaluate, and collate the competitive IP landscape.
Assist with the legal department's organizational infrastructure (e.g., IP docketing).
Communicate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure IP protection aligns with those needs.
Identify IP risks and communicate those risks to internal stakeholders for discussion and resolution.

Requirements / Qualifications
Patent agent/attorney with 4+ years of patent drafting and prosecution experience.
USPTO bar admission
BA/BS Degree; MS or higher in Chemistry is required.
Strong academic credentials and excellent references.
Highly productive, proactive, and transparent with strong ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite products, ChemDraw and Adobe Pro.

Preferred Qualifications:
Law Firm and Pharma/Biotech experience.

Compensation:
This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, occasional overtime.
Pay is commensurate with experience.

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual target bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, type and length of experience within the industry, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
Total Compensation includes base salary; benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; 401(k) matching program; paid time off; paid holidays; Employee Assistance Program; and other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including but not limited to cash bonuses.
Following a conditional offer of employment, satisfactory completion of a background check (including criminal records check) is required prior to beginning employment. Any offer of employment may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current NAI employee who was conditionally offered the position.
