ATCO STRUCTURES AND LOGISTICS (USA) INC. ("ASL-USA") is seeking an HSE Managerfor our National Operations

The National HSE Manager will shape a comprehensive safety culture by driving and promoting safety policies, procedures, & accountability as top priorities throughout the organization by developing, communicating, and enforcing proactive safety programs, and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations.

  • Promote a proactive Safety culture at all levels of the organization, with heavy focus on employee engagement.
  • Provide technical expertise and proactive leadership of Safety initiatives. Guide and support the development of company Safety standards and policies.
  • Act in an advisory capacity to management on all Safety matters; develop safety metrics and key performance indicators that enable the management team to assess and track Safety program effectiveness.
  • Lead the development and execution of process Safety improvement plans for all US sites; conduct trend analysis, document compliance, and accountability for outcomes of Safety issues.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute a comprehensive Safety audit program.
  • Manage and monitor the investigations of all Safety incidents; ensure root causes are identified and corrected; and develop measures to prevent recurrences.
  • Manage digital HSE platform (Gensuite) to record and manage all HSE, ESG, & ISO programs.
  • Implement and manage systems including procedural updates, document control, internal & external auditing, corrective actions and non-conformance tracking and all site communications as necessary for driving ATCO Structures USA ISO 9001 systems.
  • Work closely with team members to understand ATCO client Safety expectations for on-site projects and ensure company policies and procedures meet and exceed such expectations.
  • Ensure federal, state, and local Safety regulations are identified and evaluated for their impact on company operations, and plans implemented for safe site operations.
  • Advise management on Safety issues and regulations which may impact business. Ensure ATCO continually remains compliant, and management adequately informed, of industry regulatory changes.
  • Maintain all environmental permits and authorizations required for facility or project operations. Manage external environmental compliance and reporting. Coordinate with management to reduce environmental impact and liability.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Relevant Safety certification(s) strongly desired, e.g., Certified Safety Manager (CSM) or Certified Safety Manager Construction (CSMC), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST)
  • Expertise in OSHA, MSHA & ISO standards related to construction required.
  • OSHA 500 Construction Trainer accreditation preferred.
  • Ten (10) years of relevant work experience is required, with a minimum of five (5) years of managerial experience supervising teams of four (4) or more.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Safety principles, practices, and equipment to determine if proper methods and procedures are utilized to assure regulatory compliance.
  • Exceptional communication skills: ability to convey information clearly and concisely and in writing required.
  • Willingness and ability to effectively present Safety lessons and training courses to groups of people required.
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills, experience handling multiple projects required.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (advanced Excel preferred for reporting); ERP experience strongly preferred, specifically Oracle.
  • Expertise in the implementation of Safety programs required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%, with some overnight travel required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Health & Safety Science, Construction Science, or an Engineering discipline from an accredited four (4) year college/university required. Relevant experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. (Post graduate degree in health & safety science preferred)

  • Position may require that the employee work long hours, up to twelve (12) hours per day.
