Job Purpose
The successful candidate will plan, design, implement, and manage our client's network infrastructure (physical and virtual) according to best practices, company policy, and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for adhering to project timelines while maintaining the highest level of accuracy, reliability, and infrastructure availability. You will develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures to ensure consistent and repeatable practices for day-to-day operational support of physical/virtual devices running on various platforms.

Job Purpose
The successful candidate will plan, design, implement, and manage our client's network infrastructure (physical and virtual) according to best practices, company policy, and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for adhering to project timelines while maintaining the highest level of accuracy, reliability, and infrastructure availability. You will develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures to ensure consistent and repeatable practices for day-to-day operational support of physical/virtual devices running on various platforms.
Essential Functions
- Participate in the daily operations, including change requests, incidents, troubleshooting, patching and monitoring of all hardware and software on various platforms (Aruba, Dell, Brocade, Cisco, VMware, Azure, AWS, etc.) within the established Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Recommends and implements standards and procedures improvements for the implementation and administration of physical and virtual infrastructure
- Responsible for managing growth and capacity plans by monitoring network performance and communicating specific capacity needs, when they arise
- Creates and maintains operating procedures/best practices/standards related to network administration of physical and virtual infrastructure.
- Maintains good working knowledge of current infrastructure and future trends.
- Participate in on-call rotation for escalation support of technical issues, supporting the 24x7 operation environment
Education
- Two years of College or Technical School resulting in an Associate's Degree or equivalent
Experience/Background
- Strong background in engineering and administering IP networks.
- Extensive hands on experience in the configuration and maintenance of routers, bridges, switches, wifi and firewalls.
- In depth experience with TCP/IP platforms involving dynamic routing protocols like EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP and their related control protocols.
- Practical real world experience of heterogeneous networking components along with knowledge of routing/ switching involving VLANs, port-channels, LACP, DHCP, dot1q, spanning tree, multicast, broadcast storm, DoS/DDoS, NAT, GRE, IPSEC, DMVPN, Q-in-Q, ACL, etc.
- Excellent working knowledge in the areas of various cloud technologies (VMware/AWS/Azure) including direct peering, high availability, and hybrid design/configuration
- Experience using network analysis, management and performance monitoring tools to evaluate product and service behaviors.
- Working experience with troubleshooting tools such as traceroute, dig, tcpdump/snoop, and packet analysis applications.
- Experience with Aruba, Cisco IOS/Nexus/Catalyst/SF/SG Series/Wireless Controller/Access Point, Brocade, Dell, Cisco Firepower and FirePower Threat Defence(FTD) Firewalls, Watchguard, Netgear,
- Experience with Visio creating detailed network diagrams.
- Working knowledge of Windows/Linux based server and application installation/troubleshooting, hardening based on CIS standards and administration
- Strong experience with monitoring and managing monitoring tools (Solarwinds/Zabbix)
- Highly proficiency in scripting, automation, orchestration technologies and languages such as Python, Ansible, Terraform
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Ability to analysis and improve on existing systems and architectures.
- Able to function efficiently in a multi-task environment and work under pressure.
- Expert communication skills, including the ability to document and demonstrate procedures and processes.
- A strong team player,strong interpersonal and team building skills
- Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, AWS Certifications preferred
- Other industry certifications (e.g. Brocade, Aruba, Watchguard) definite assets.
- ITIL certification is preferred.
