Job Description:
SUMMARY
Provides direct supervisionand oversight of the Joint Apprenticeship Training Program. Manages program activities, budgetresponsibilities, curriculum development, staff supervision/oversight,recruitment, revenue generation, ensures compliance with apprenticeshiprequirements, negotiates training agreements, maintains relationship withmultiple trades throughout Ohio, establishes new formal partnerships, anddevelops strategic goals. In addition, manages the operation of thePre-Apprentice Training Program which includes instructor recruitment, laboperations and inventory, organize field trips and develop/update curriculum.

Special Note: Target Starting Salary Range: $90,188 to $94,813

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manages and expands all construction trades related training programs
- Manage Pre-Apprentice Training Program
- Leads and manages support staff and works collaboratively with Apprenticeship personnel at training sites across Ohio
- Develops and advances strategic goals and initiatives
- Measures program outcomes, analyzes results and implements program improvements/ enhancements
- Prepares and manages all program related budgets
- Develops and achieves approved revenue goals in collaboration with division leadership
- Manages and facilitates all related program activities
- Oversees all program-related curriculum development
- Responsible for maintaining the program's compliance with state requirements
- Manages and negotiates associated agreements
- Cultivates and maintains positive working relationships and collaborations internally with instructional areas and externally with training sites, labor organizations, community and business leaders, and key federal, state and local agencies and institutions
- Performsother duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Bachelor's degree
- Significant related experience may substitute for education
- Minimum of seven years of demonstrated related professional labor experience
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in construction trades and/or demonstrated labor organizations experience and knowledge in skilled trades/journeyman experience
- Demonstrated experience hiring, training, developing, scheduling, supervising and managing the work performance of others
- Demonstrated experience forecasting, planning, maintaining, preparing and monitoring a business area's budget
- Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of construction trades concepts and practices with the ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations as it pertains to the departmental focus

- The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment;
- The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated;
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.;
- Some heavy lifting may be involved during lab inventory replenishment
- Work may also requirewalking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetingsand conferences away from the worksite
