Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains data models (logical and physical) for operational and analytical systems in the Enterprise
- Maintains the ERWIN model repository and ensures the models are current
- Creates and executes DDL in development environments for any new and/or revised database objects
- Works closely and communicates effectively with the IT development staff on providing the best data design solutions for their needs
- Must possess the ability to derive data requirements from functional requirements, source data and meetings and the ability to generate data models from scratch to meet requirements and follow best practices
- Works to promote the enterprise's data governance standards
- Reviews and Approves requests pertaining to database objects in a timely manner.
- BS in Computer Science or related field
- 7+ years experience in data design, data architecture and data modeling (both transactional and analytic)
- 5+ years experience in Relational and Dimensional data design and modeling in a large multi-platform data environment
- 5+ years experience with Azure Synapse for the batched data warehouse, and Cosmos DB for the near real time data warehouse
- 5+ years experience writing and optimizing complex SQL code
- Experience working in Supply Chain or 3PL projects.
- Experience with data modeling tools
- Experience with Oracle/SQL Server/DB2 in support of the transactional systems modeling is preferred
- Experience with Netezza or other data warehouse appliance platform
- Experience with Hadoop, Cassandra or other noSQL database platform
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills, and have experience interfacing directly with program development, user and management personnel
