Job Summary:
PIC Group has a great opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Manager to support a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) state-of-the-art facility in Morris, IL. The Maintenance Manager will report directly to the Plant Manager and be responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant maintenance to ensure that systems are functioning safely and efficiently. In this role, the Maintenance Manager will lead a team of five (5) and will be responsible for managing both preventive and corrective maintenance processes, while also driving continuous improvements across the facility. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess excellent leadership skills, and be comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring the highest standards of safety and operational performance are maintained.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols, providing necessary tools and equipment, and promoting safe work behaviors.
Oversee all plant maintenance activities, ensuring efficient preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance processes.
Manage a team of five (5) maintenance staff, ensuring effective training, cross-skilling, and performance management.
Conduct incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent future issues.
Develop and maintain spare parts inventory, ensuring timely availability of critical spares and materials for outages.
Manage maintenance planning for week-to-week activities and major plant outages, ensuring safe and efficient execution.
Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, internal and third-party reports, and OEM documentation.
Administer maintenance agreements and contracts in accordance with company and owner policies, ensuring all terms are met.
Drive continuous improvement through change management and best practices to enhance plant safety and operational efficiency.
Respond to forced outages and critical events on a 24/7 basis, developing and executing recovery plans as needed.
Job Requirements:
Prior hands-on managerial/supervisory experience overseeing a team.
Strong communication skills, analytical ability, attention to detail, and ability to make decisions and meet deadlines under pressure.
Experience with Maximo Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) required.
Extensive knowledge of gas and steam technologies.
Hands-on experience with gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, heat recovery steam generators, and associated hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic controls.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel, Word, and MS Project.
Adherence to company policies and procedures is mandatory at all times.
Valid state-issued driver's license required, with the ability to maintain it.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, sit, walk, kneel, twist, climb stairs and ladders, and enter plant equipment for inspections.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Required to wear personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.)
May work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals.
Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent training/experience.
10+ years of experience in power plant operations and maintenance (Combined Cycle preferred) or a similar industry.
5+ years of hands-on experience with Maximo CMMS.
Must have and be able to maintain a valid state-issued driver's license.
