Job Summary:
The Practice Manager oversees the nursing and clinical staff and overall nursing operations of the Elkhart Clinic. Their duties include evaluating and directing all nursing and clinical employees, establishing goals and providing direction and support for the nursing supervisors and the department, and creating and enforcing compliant healthcare policies.
The Practice Manager is responsible for ensuring all nursing personnel are performing productively and efficiently at all times. The Practice Manager acts as the point of contact between their employees and the Physicians or other healthcare team members. The Practice Manager will be instrumental in build training programs that focus on clinical competency and proficiencies and developing operating policies mechanisms that help the nursing staff meet goals that improve the overall performance of the Clinic.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily functions within medical departments to ensure services are rendered with accuracy, efficiency and in a timely manner. Promote excellence in customer service within all aspects of care delivery.
- Review and update timesheets for department members daily. Monitor and report overtime to COO and HR as part of overall evaluation of department function.
- Maintain PTO and attendance points record.
- Complete initial review of time off requests to assess for potential in-department coverage of vacancies. Maintain a monthly or yearly calendar to coordinate time off to minimize float coverage needs.
- May provide department-level input on team member performance to assist in annual performance evaluations.
- Maintain roster of staff needing annual clinical competency review
- Assesses of candidates for open positions within the department
- Coordinate and monitor in-department orientation of new staff. Provide updates to COO.
- Ensure that medication and supply maintenance is being performed within the department, including outdate tracking, returns and recalls.
- Coordinate staff meeting.
- Facilitate dissemination of information from Administration to frontline staff and providers
- Keep Administration informed of all department-related changes and needs. Complete end of day report at the end of each workday.
- Participate in required trainings related to performance of administrative duties
- Maintain awareness of current clinic policies and procedures relevant to areas of oversight
- Provide first-line customer service recovery efforts for patient complaints originating from assigned departments
- Duties as otherwise assigned
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Knowledge of medical office routine operations
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledgable in EMR and practice management systems
- Knowledge of Elkhart Clinic policies and procedures
- Exhibits excellent customer service skills in current role
- Exhibits ability to utilize critical thinking and sound judgement in decision-making
- Exhibits ability to influence others to perform their jobs effectively
- Exhibits the desire to teach and support others
- Displays a positive attitude and collaborative working relationship with coworkers
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University or College Required.
- Must hold a current Registered Nursing License for the state of Indiana
- > 5 years of experience as an RN, charge nurse, or nursing supervisor or equivalent experience.
