Position Summary
BB&E is currently looking for an Environmental Scientist/Engineer (Hybrid) to support AFCEC/CZP at Travis AFB, CA.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide scientific or technical guidance, support, and coordinate to governmental agencies and environmental programs
- Review and implement environmental technical standards, guidelines, policies, and formal regulations that meet all appropriate requirements
- Collect, synthesize, analyze, manage, and report environmental data and/or environmental regulatory activities
Key Qualifications
- US Citizenship and DoD Government Security Clearance of NACI
- Prior DoD or Air Force experience; must have knowledge of prioritizing impacts in legislation for DoD Missions and how legislation and regulations could impact the DoD
- Must have knowledge of State Legislatures and how to search in StateScape or another legislative program
- Motivated self-starter
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
Experience & Education
- Three (3) to ten (10) years of experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience performing engineering and/or environmental duties related to Military Missions and Operation
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Natural or Environmental Science, Physical Science, or Toxicology from an accredited university
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods of time
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Working conditions:
- Able to work both indoor/outdoor (with exposure to the elements)
- Able to walk/climb/knee/crouch and reach
- Able to work on rough terrain when necessary
- Able to work in confined spaces and/or heights
- Able to wear the required PPE
- Exposure to hazards/contaminants at times
