The Director, Modern Data Solutions plays an essential role guiding internal teams and clients with best practices on handling modern data types. The rapid evolution of workspace collaboration tools and cloud-based documents has exponentially expanded the data sources required for eDiscovery collection, processing, review, and production. Working closely with clients, sales and delivery teams, this role ensures the client's goals for a matter are met when modern data types are involved across the end to end matter lifecycle. Tapping into their extensive expertise on modern data types and trends, the Director, Modern Data Solutions serves as a guide and coach to internal teams as they further their knowledge of emerging data types and new workflows. Leveraging both LH and third party technologies, this role also collaborates with product managers (PdM) to define and optimize the end-to-end workflow, service capabilities, technologies for scalable solutions for LH clients.

Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include a wide array of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic location, or other relevant factors. The salary range for this position may be tailored to be lower or higher in different talent markets.
The expected pay for this role will range from $123,809 to $176,870 per year. This role will be eligible to participate in an annual bonus or incentive program.

What will this person do?
- Operationalize and manage implementation of new solutions for modern data types. Partner with SMEs, documentation teams and enablement team to define and / or optimize workflows for clients with live matters. Ensure workflows are documented and understood by the teams supporting the data type.
- Serve as an expert on handling modern data - staying on top of trends with Microsoft 365, Google/Gvault, etc, engaging product teams at OEMs, etc. Raise client and data trends with product team to evaluate and consider including in the solution roadmap. Continuously monitor and evaluate effectiveness of standard offerings to identify opportunities to improve solution set
- Lead Data workflow council to drive decisions on workflows, treatment of data across cross functional teams (Innovations solutions, processing/operations, product, digital forensics, advisory, UK, etc). Partner with forensics & operations teams to rapidly respond to incoming data and determine best workflow to employ
- Drives communication and education of relevant teams on new data type solutions and corresponding workflows across Spectra, RelOne and full services - encompassing the full LH platform
- Acting as the voice of the customer for services, provide a consolidated viewpoint and partner with product teams to influence the product pipeline, develop the long term roadmap and shape LH's future solutions. Conduct initial analysis, fact finding and facilitate feedback loop back to product on input and optimizations from delivery.
- Serve as connection to services leadership on resource planning to determine headcount to meet growth targets (ideally this is part of the budget process)
- Assess workflow/ support model impacts to influence design of the technology; assess viability and potential risks to the solution
- Evaluation of 3rd party technology as part of the long term technology vision for new data types would be the responsibility of the product development organization
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Bachelor's degree (Masters or JD a plus)
- 10+ years of e-discovery experience, with 5+ years of e-discovery project management, operations or consulting experience
- Experience in product management a plus
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Deep understanding of e-discovery best practices and of current and emerging technologies including: computer forensics, data collection, modern data/messaging platform administration (M365, Teams, Slack, Google), third-party tools for data collection, exporting and/or processing (Cellebrite, MessageCrawler, Encase, Onna, Logikcull), litigation support, Nuix, Relativity.
- Role should have technical depth equivalent to a product manager. Primary skill needed is deep understanding of EDRM data uses, formats, fields and potential downstream nuances. Important to understand how to interact with the product teams and roles - the idea candidate would have product experience but not necessary.
- Ability to interpret complex technical requirements
- Ability to foster positive and professional relationships at all levels internally and externally and to leverage those relationships to effectively drive projects to completion
- Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standards exist
- Effective written and oral communication skills, including the ability to deal with difficult situations and manage conflicts to successful resolution
