Description:

The Scrum Master (SM) is a member of our Agile Project Management Office (APMO). The Scrum Master is responsible for ensuring the Agile team(s) adhere to Agile principles and practices while coaching the team towards a higher level of Agile maturity. They facilitate agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. Their role is to remove impediments and foster a productive and collaborative work environment. They also coach and mentor team members on the agile framework and track/report team progress and metrics.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coach and mentor team on the agile framework
  • Lead/facilitate/participate in daily stand-ups.
  • Resolve team conflicts and remove impediments for the team.
  • Foster a culture of relentless improvement through retrospectives and other agile practices.
  • Lead/facilitate/participate in Agile development sprint planning ceremonies.
  • Work with Product Owners to inform prioritization of feature development, based on business value.
  • Work with Release Train Engineer (RTE), other Scrum Masters and Scrum teams to successfully deliver, and improve PI Planning on a quarterly basis.
  • Monitor the progress and performance of the team by maintaining and improving agile metrics and performance reports (i.e. predictability, velocity,
  • Assist with creating team performance reports (i.e. burn down, velocity, backlog health, flow).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field
  • One or more relevant Agile certifications (e.g. CSM, SAFe, PMI-ACP)

Experience:
  • 5-10+ years of relevant professional experience
  • 3+ years of experience acting as an Agilest/Scrum Master with Agile teams/implementing (scaled) Agile principles
  • 1+ years of experience utilizing agile PM tools (JIRA, Confluence, Rational, etc.)
  • 1+ years of experience with additional Agile frameworks (Kanban)

Skills:
  • Experience as a scrum master
  • Familiar with software development practices
  • Ability to create, maintain, and improve agile artifacts, practices, and ceremonies
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and conflict-resolution techniques
