Responsibilities: Conduct research to determine the parameters of a robotic application: Design, implement, and deploy robotic cells, systems, and components; Advise Physical Design Engineering team on optimal robotic application layout and gripper design; Develop and implement software that will control robots; Create prototypes and work on necessary components (e.g. microprocessors); Develop cost-effective and efficient processes to produce the machines; and Perform rigorous system tests and quality control; Apply machine learning techniques; Create complete documentation for robotic systems; and Train operations, engineering, and maintenance teams on use and integration; Monitor the use of robotic systems and optimize their functionality; Troubleshoot defects in the robot design; Implement cutting-edge approaches to developing smart solutions to existing problems; and Keep abreast of advancements in robotics and relevant fields of engineering.
Educ./experience: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field, plus two (2) years of post-baccalaureate experience as an Automation and Controls Engineer, Robotics Engineer, or in a related position. Experience must include the design and manufacturing of complete automation solutions, Python, MATLAB, Simulink, C++, Automation and Controls Design, Cycle Time Studies, Robot Programming, PLC Programming, Mechanical Designing, and Creative End-of-arm Tool Designs. Must have Unmanned Vehicle Systems certificate.
