Description:

The Operation Manager defines and executes production plans in a safe and quality manner to deliver products on time, including assembly, equipment operations, manufacturing processes, handling, and packaging.

Position Type: Full-time, Exempt

Knowledge & Experience:
  • Prefer candidates with a BA/BS in Business Administration or related degree; or four to ten years related experience and/or training in relevant industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • A minimum of 5 (five) years in progressive commercial foodservice, or industry related assignments is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 (three) years supervisory/management experience required.
  • Understanding of manufacturing industry processes and procedures with hands on experience.
  • Demonstrable ability to apply strategic vision to an organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, work under pressure with challenging deadlines while delivering high quality results.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and 5S processes.
  • Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.

Essential Functions | Accountabilities | Performance Measures
  • Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards and to develop budget and cost controls.
  • Communicates to all shift leader's production plans, activities, and established production priorities.
  • Directs trains and coaches all shift leaders on company policies and procedures.
  • Informs the human resources department when personnel problems arise and assists with the hiring of new employees.
  • Reviews employee performance evaluation and coaches all shift on how to complete the employee evaluations.
  • Coordinate with the human resource department all employee disciplinary reports and or terminations.
  • Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
  • Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
  • Work with production and inventory control to revise production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems.
  • Consult with engineering personnel relative to modifications of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality products.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with procedures and standards.
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
  • Cooperates with other members of management personnel in formulating and establishing company policies, operating procedures, and goals.
  • Regular and punctual attendance, consistently adhere to the assigned work schedule
  • Comply with all GMP requirements and adhere to all CFS safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Leadership & Talent Management: Supervises a team consisting of professionals, typically at the entry or intermediate level. Leads, directs, and reviews the work of team members in order to accomplish operational plans and results. Provides primary input to hiring, firing, promotion, performance, and rewards decisions for direct reports.

Travel Required: Up to 10% travel, in support of corporate initiatives

Physical Demands:
  • Wear safety attire and protective gear on a daily basis.
  • Usually work indoors. This site may not be temperature controlled.
  • Are exposed to hazardous equipment on a weekly basis.
