Overview
The position of lab instructor: Lab Assistant is in the School of Health Sciences and Practice (SHSP) at New York Medical College, Division of physical therapy. The responsibilities of the position include instruction and/or examination of students in clinical skills labs under the supervision of a department faculty person.

Qualifications
Education requirement: Bachelors, Master, or Doctor of physical therapy degree.
Licenses or certifications: Active physical therapy license in the state of New York.
Technical/computer skills: General computer skills/typing, good command of the English language.
Prior experience: At least 6 months clinical experience in a physical therapy setting.
Physical: Ability to perform all physical components of teaching, including lifting and moving 50 lbs from one location to another in positions of kneeling, sitting, and crouched or full standing, that may also involve twisting, pivoting, and leaning.
Environmental: Ability to teach in classrooms, clinical skills labs, and through distance-based technology for up to 3 hours with intermittent breaks. The ability to work utilize computers, projectors, and physical therapy equipment in multiple educations settings.

Responsibilities
- Ability to verbally communicate with students and faculty sufficient for all teaching and course organization activities, both in person and through remote media.
- Ability to perform all physical components of teaching, including lifting and moving 50 lbs from one location to another in positions of kneeling, sitting, and crouched or full standing, that may also involve twisting, pivoting, and leaning.
- Ability to participate in class sessions cognitively and physically for up to 3 hours with intermittent breaks.
- Demonstration of professional behaviors and effective interpersonal skills with students and faculty during teaching activities.
