Summary:

The Assistant Controller is a self-motivated, highly detailed professional who will assist in overseeing the accounting department's functions to ensure efficiency and compliance.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
  • Manages the accounting consolidation process for NUG
  • Manage the Pro-Pipe (subsidiary of NUG) accounting team
  • Responsible for ensuring data integrity and accuracy
  • Liaison with accounting software and other system vendors and consultants
  • Development of system controls to ensure data integrity
  • Oversees, monitors, and works to improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and database management
  • Assists the CFO in producing accurate and timely financials statements
  • Trains staff on proper company procedures
  • Oversees the month-end closing and financial reporting process including account analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Provides monthly and ad hoc reporting for Accumark and Benchmark operating companies working closely with NUG FP&A leader and business GM
  • Coordinates the bank and financial audits with the Controller and CFO
  • Coordinates annual income tax return filings with Controller and CFO
  • Assist with other projects as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Assists in supervision of accounting department supervisor and staff, including daily workflow and month-end close processes

Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP
  • Possesses strong leadership, supervisory and management abilities
  • Pays close attention to detail
  • Has excellent critical thinking skills as well as ability to be highly analytical
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to interact at all levels of management throughout the organization
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Exhibits strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office Products


Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA or MBA designation desired
  • Minimum four years of public/private accounting preferred
  • Financial analysis experience preferred
  • Two to three years of supervisory experience
