A successful individual in this role must possess related work experience with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include risk management, compliance, delivered business results, team management in support of asset operation and maintenance, support and prioritization of reliability and engineering activities including improvement projects.

Job Dimensions:
The Operations Manager is a member of the Site Leadership Team, sharing overall responsibility for site performance and bearing department-specific responsibility for ~200 employees in Operations and the operational performance of two PX Units, three PTA units, the NDC Unit, site Utilities and Wastewater Treatment, Logistics (Packaging and Shipping & Supply Chain), and the Laboratory.
Roles and Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
As a member of the IVXP Leadership Team, accountabilities include:
Contributing to the site's strategy and agenda setting Aligning personnel accordingly across the site Executing tactical plans aimed at people development, safe and reliable operations, and unfailingly compliant operations, continuous performance improvement Upholding IVXP's Code of Conduct and protecting IVXP's assets
As the single point of accountability for the Operations Department, responsibilities include:
Establishing tactical plans including budgets and performance targets, ensuring team alignment on the path forward, and leading execution of the plans and related actions Responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety, Process Safety, and Environment compliance for the Operations organization Ensuring personal and process safety including compliance with safety regulations and process safety policies and standards, and external regulatory requirements Creates a positive work environment, coaches all levels on the required IVXP Leadership Behaviors, and ensures broad engagement with emphasis on diversity and inclusion Planning and leading the execution of competency assurance and capability development across the team, assigning clear responsibilities and objectives, enabling success, and managing personnel performance issues Leading development of and executing people processes including talent management and succession planning Ensuring compliance with all elements of the Code of Conduct, financial controls and assurance requirements, and the operational elements of all regulatory requirements Drives innovation and leads long-term site optimization initiatives relating to safety improvement, cost reduction, capacity creep, and process availability with emphasis on continuous improvement Ensures adherence to Operating Procedures, GOPs (General Operation Procedures), Site Policies & Procedures, Safety and administrative procedures Understands site's major process safety risks (MAR, blue & turquoise risks, etc) and ensures procedures managing these risks are followed (critical equipment, safe operating limits, annual risk review process, etc) Manages site's production plan and product inventories Responsible for monitoring site raw material needs and managing inventories Works closely with IVL North America Logistics on PX Make vs Buy decision Reviews performance against budgets and targets; assures department is operating within spending plan and is demonstrating continuous improvement in the form of cost reduction and performance improvement Contributes to capital project justifications Contributes to the development of turnaround plans; executes the operational elements Ensures the sharing of best practices and lessons learned across the site and actively drives and participates in intra-site sharing Promotes and exemplifies teamwork and partnering within the site, across departments, and across other IVL sites Coordinates operating plan development and adjustment with the commercial team Contributes to customer satisfaction on an ongoing basis by consistently meeting requirements and, when advantageous, by contributing to face-to-face meetings with customers Serves as Incident Commander on site Incident Management Team
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
Maintains a clean and well-organized work area Attends meetings as required Attends training as required Complies with all HSSE programs, policies and procedures Completes required reports - Biweekly Report, Monthly Performance Review (MPR), Monthly Aromatics Dashboard Performs special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned

Education/Experience:
- Degree required: 4-year degree in an engineering discipline or related technical field
- Years of Experience: 10+ years of in chemical manufacturing, refining, or production
- A proven record of performance through leadership accomplishments
- Proven record of sound judgment and effective decision making
- Advanced understanding of manufacturing principles
