Qualifications:
- Valid New Jersey School Administrator, Principal Certificate, or Certificate of Eligibility
- Minimum of five years classroom teaching experience (preferably in reading or ELA). Administrative experience in curriculum development, and school administration
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in the areas of personnel management, school administration, and supervision of programs and staff
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Required criminal history background check and proof of United States citizenship or legal resident alien status
- Assists the superintendent of schools in supervising the district's PreK- 12 instructional and technology programs
- Develops, implements and monitors long-range plans for curriculum, instruction and assessment
- Assists with the preparation and administration of the instructional accounts of the budget
- Provides leadership and guidance in the process of curriculum planning, coordination, and evaluation
- Assists in the planning and administration of an effective system for the recruitment, selection, evaluation, and staff professional growth for certificated and uncertificated personnel
- Assists in developing and administering in-service programs for professional staff based on district priorities for instructional improvement
- Assists in preparing drafts of Board policies and administrative rules
- Coordinates the selection and recommendation for adoption of all curriculum, textbooks, and supplementary instructional materials
- Participates in the work of state and national curriculum study organizations and groups as directed by the superintendent of schools
- Attends Board of Education meetings and prepares reports for the Board of Education as the superintendent of schools may request
- Prepares the evaluation schedules of district personnel in accordance with law, code, and Board policy
- Maintains district-wide listings of staff observations, evaluations, professional development plans, annual reports, and accrual of professional development hours
- Assists in coordinating state and local assessment programs
- Interprets standardized test data administered in the district to the Board in conjunction with other appropriate administrators
- Serves as the district's liaison with the Curriculum Committee when directed by Superintendent
- Maintains and enhances a two-way communication linkage with Branchburg administrators regarding curriculum, instruction and assessment, and technology
- Monitors and is responsible for state teaching certification, mentoring programs, and professional growth requirements
- Assists in aggregating data and submitting annual state reports that include, but are not limited to, School Report Cards, Fall Certificated Staff Report, Professional Development and Mentoring Plans, and NJQSAC
- Coordinates and is responsible for printing and production of the district's activity calendar, parent handbooks, brochures, report cards, and other materials
- Coordinates the district's substitute teacher program, such as, but not limited to, training, documentation, and communication with the substitute teacher service
- Assists the superintendent of schools in providing parental workshops
- Applies for district educational grants for alternative sources of funding
- Assists in coordinating and implementing the summer programs
- Supervise all aspects of ELA and ML curriculum development, including distribution, use and collection of all ELA materials and resources.
- Assist in evaluating certificated staff who support or implement ELA and ML curriculum.
- Organizes and implements in-service programs to help ELA and ML teachers and specialists attain and maintain a high degree of professional competence.
- Assist in providing in-service orientation and induction training for all new ELA and ML teachers and specialists in the District.
- Coordinate development of comprehensive diagnostic assessment instruments to identify, analyze and address specific skill deficiencies in ELA and ML.
- Collaborate with the Supervisors of BSI and Title I and Special Education on any issues related to remedial programs in ELA, including the development and implementation of any ELA-related remedial instructional programs.
- Conduct staff meetings and provide leadership, instruction and motivation, supporting the professional growth of those teaching ELA and ML.
