Position Summary

The Corporate Director of Hospitality Finance and Accounting will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations within our hospitality portfolio, ensuring comprehensive financial vigilance, reporting, and compliance with corporate standards. This position demands a detail-oriented professional with extensive experience in hospitality finance and management, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to financial management and reporting. They will collaborate closely with the CFO to streamline financial processes, optimize revenue strategies, enhance asset performance, and manage budgetary allocations effectively, while maintaining compliance with hospitality accounting standards and corporate policies.

Key responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, monitoring cash flow, and managing financial audits and compliance. The Corporate Director of Hospitality Finance and Accounting will provide strategic financial guidance to senior management, offering insights into cost management, profitability analysis, and forecasting for future growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership capabilities, a thorough understanding of hospitality industry dynamics, and a track record of driving financial success in complex environments.

Responsibilities:

Managing Assets and Policies - Multiple Hospitality Properties

  • Provide final oversight of financial statements and property reports, ensuring accuracy, and timeliness of distributions. Streamline reporting formats to ensure consistency across all assets.
  • Create and oversee standardized financial asset management reports including cash-flow forecasts, specific ad-hoc reporting and lender and partner reports.
  • Work with internal legal to ensure compliance with various partnership covenants.
  • Ensure cooperation with Treasury to confirm compliance of various cash management documents (FF&E, Tax and Seasonality Reserves etc) and create standardized cash management policies where relevant.
  • Support property level financial leaders in their process, foster structure and systems where needed, foster education and provide stability of leadership as needed.
  • Generate and provide accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Reconcile balance sheet and ensure account balances are supported by appropriate documentation in accordance with SOPs.
  • Ensure compliance with various tax codes, local and statewide requirements.
  • Lead the Budget preparation and review process.
  • Monitor reporting for outlets and third party venues.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track financial performance and provide insights for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor, in association with development team and accountants, capital expenditure projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and aligned with strategic goals.


Maintaining Finance and Accounting Goals

  • Submit reports in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlines
  • Ensure profits and losses are documented accurately
  • Implement cost control measures and conduct regular cost analysis to identify areas for potential savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Achieve and exceed goals including performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work
  • Monitor all taxes that apply, ensuring that taxes are current, collected and/or accrued
  • Compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, or verify information or data
  • Maintain a strong accounting & operational control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations and profitability and manage business risks
  • Generate and reviews financial reports that are linked to the plan's financial goals
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function, streamlining processes and enhancing financial reporting accuracy.


Proving Financial Information and Guidance to Others

  • Advise the General Managers, Area Team, Executive Committee, and Corporate Finance on existing and evolving operating / financial issues
  • Provide ongoing analytical support (e.g., monitoring the operating department's actual and projected sales and profit and coaches management team to ensure financial goals are met and opportunities are identified and addressed)
  • Coach Department Heads and Managers to effectively manage their department's financial performance
  • Provide meaning or context to the financial results
  • Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures, and efficient control and utilization of financial resources

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accounting. CPA preferred
  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment
  • A minimum of five 5) years' experience in Accounting management in a hospitality & real estate development environment required
