San Luis Valley Health is seeking a Director of Human Resources. Leading a team of six, this position is directly responsible for the management, administration, coordination, and evaluation of Human Resource services and functions for all departments and the 765 employees of San Luis Valley Health. What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field.
  • HR Certification required.
  • 5 years' experience as an HR Director in a health care related field.


What You'll Do:
  • Plans, organizes, and controls all day-to-day functions of the RMC and CCH Human Resource Departments, including monthly reviews and recommendations for improvement of department policies, procedures, and business practices. Develops and maintains HR-related policies and procedures in compliance with Federal and State laws, CMS, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Manages hiring processes and staff functions related to such. Develops and maintains an effective "onboarding" process that ensures new employees are integrated into facility and understand the organization's commitment to the established Mission, Vision, and Tactics. Performs related talent acquisition activities. Strives to achieve strong diversity of staff. Maintains and develops records related to same.
  • Responsible for departmental budget preparation and reconciliation.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures all departments are in compliance.
  • Maintains excellent relationship with Finance in relation to payroll procedures and processing.
  • Communicates changes in organization personnel policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is maintained.
  • Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters. This may include guiding performance improvement plans, staff and/or manager development, coaching, documentation efforts, and helping staff and management understand the implications of non-compliance with personnel regulations.
  • Assists in implementation, development, and tracking evaluation efforts of Staff and Leader Development for the organization.
  • Manages and oversees HR responsibilities as related to the organization's HRIS system.
  • Manages health and welfare plans including enrollments and terminations and the annual open enrollment process. Processes required documents through HR and providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper benefit premium deductions. Oversees COBRA and FMLA administration.
  • Manages Worker's Compensation program. Ensures all job-related injuries are filed with the organization's insurance carrier timely and works with ROMP and the injured employee on quick recovery. Places employees in temporary positions when available and/or initiates the FMLA process. Works with insurance carrier and directors on risk management program to eliminate or prevent injuries.
  • Supervises all staff of the HR Department.
