Description:
Senior Geologist (Multiple Positions) (Coeur Mining, Inc.; Chicago, IL): Prepare monthly corporate geology reports, and review drill program plans and budgets. Analyze geological data and measure operational performance against company targets. Determine solutions to technical and other operational difficulties to keep Reserve and Resource processes on schedule. Interpret and analyze the results of exploration, operational drilling, and other geological and geotechnical information to develop geologic and mineral resource models. Implement Quality Assurance and Quality Controls programs related to mining projects. Monitor weekly and monthly reports from active mining projects. Identify, test, and implement new technologies and mining software tools across operational and technical services teams. 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.).
Requirements:
Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field, and 10 years of post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience; OR a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field, and 8 years of related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 8 years of experience with the following: Developing exploration programs for mines which result in reserve and resource generation; Developing and updating geological, resource, and reserve models; Supporting the development of geotechnical, hydrogeological, grade control and exploration models, workflows, and techniques; Using 3D geologic interpretation and visualization, geologic data validation, Quality Assurance and Quality Control, and core photo and rock analyses; and Reviewing historical records related to mining operations.
Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days a week, depending on business need.
Travel to various locations throughout the US required up to 10%.
Travel to various international locations required up to 10%.
