Position Summary:

The Logistics Manager provides both strategic direction and operational support for the logistics function. Develops strategic plans to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of the logistics operations. Coordinates with third-party carriers for domestic and international transportation, manages import/export activities, and oversees shipping, receiving, and inventory control.

Essential Functions:
  • Oversee all aspects of logistics, including shipping/receiving, inventory control, warehousing, and establishing 3PL providers in strategic locations.
  • Analyze current footprint and analyze costs and time requirements to deliver to customer sites globally.
  • Manage budgets and draft strategic plans within the department.
  • Understands business growth strategies and drives continuous improvement actions optimize logistic expenses to ensure service levels and costs to meet customer requirements.
  • Formulate and execute major policies, programs and objectives to ensure company's success within the warehouse.
  • Responsible for efficient and cost-effective inventory management. Develop and implement procedures to maintain inventory accuracy and security. Manage cycle count and annual physical count processes and drive inventory control improvements.
  • Lead the team that ensures order fulfillment teams have the necessary product when and where they need it to support a just-in-time schedule.
  • Oversee and support the import/export administration.
  • Develop metrics to measure performance and regularly review and address findings to continually tune organizational operations.
  • Identify continuous improvement roadmap and initiatives to improve logistics services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Education, Training, and Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years in-depth experience in shipping and receiving; inventory control, import and export compliances with minimum 3 years management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics Management or equivalent experience.
  • Project management experience required, PMP certified preferred.
  • Data analysis and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and create a positive work environment.
  • Forklift license required.
