Accounting Systems Specialist
The Accounting Systems Specialist role will assist the Accounting Systems Manager with the development, implementation, and administration of the organization's core accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliation systems (Workday, Workiva and Frontier) and related policies, procedures, and internal controls.
This role will also be responsible for assisting with the coordination and project management activities for special projects designed to transform and optimize the financial ecosystem.

Qualifications
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in accounting, finance, or MIS or 6+ years relevant work experience
- 2 years of experience in public accounting with increasing responsibility understanding, evaluation, and/or designing accounting systems, internal controls, and financial data flows or accounting experience in a banking/financial services environment with experience in financial systems and subsystem accounting and reporting
- 2 years of experience working on a project team
- 2 years of advanced experience with Microsoft Office products
- Experience with Workday, Workiva and/or Frontier preferred
Licenses:
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or other certification relevant to the job such as a CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), Workday Pro, Workiva Certification -- Preferred
Job Description
Accounting Systems Specialist
The Accounting Systems Specialist role will assist the Accounting Systems Manager with the development, implementation, and administration of the organization's core accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliation systems (Workday, Workiva and Frontier) and related policies, procedures, and internal controls.
This role will also be responsible for assisting with the coordination and project management activities for special projects designed to transform and optimize the financial ecosystem.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist in resolution of system-related issues impacting business processes.
- Key contact for Controller Department on technology implementation initiatives impacting the financial ecosystem, particularly accounting and reporting sub-systems.
- Assist in managing project priorities to ensure objectives are achieved within the agreed timeframes.
- Assist with performing testing for special projects related to system upgrades and implementing changes designed to create operational efficiencies.
- Collaborate with the Finance and IT Departments to solve existing business problems using information technology or the enhancement of reporting/analytical tools.
- Assist with implementation of automating certain processes or using advanced analytics to effectuate more efficient accounting, reconciliation and reporting processes.
- Assist with training and supporting business stakeholders in the use of the financials platforms and procedural changes resulting from system upgrade or implementations.
- Assist in resolution of accounting system-related issues.
Audit and Technical Consultant
- Assist the Accounting Systems Manager with updates to procedures and documentation of processes and workflows, including the design and implementation of internal system controls to provide quality assurance over reported data.
- Assist with user acceptance testing performed by the Controller Department during system conversion or implementation processes to ensure effective data conversion and maintenance of internal control process.
- Meet with internal and external audit regarding control procedures pertaining to system development lifecycle controls or new processes/controls resulting from technology initiatives -- assist with the overall maintenance of pertinent evidence substantiating procedures performed.
Team Support
- Assist system users as needed.
- Provide support to the Accounting Systems Manager and other team members as appropriate.
