Job Overview
Reporting to the Production Manager, as the Estimating Manager, you will oversee the estimating department and ensure the accurate and efficient estimation of project costs across our various residential construction projects. You are responsible for leading a team of estimators, developing comprehensive cost estimates, and collaborating closely with various stakeholders to support project planning and execution. activities.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of estimators, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Overseeing the preparation and reviewing of accurate and detailed cost estimates for residential construction projects, including material, labor, and subcontractor costs.
- Collaborating with project managers and other stakeholders to develop project budgets and monitoring costs throughout the construction process, identifying opportunities for cost savings and value engineering.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials and services.
- Evaluating and refining estimating processes and procedures to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and productivity.
- Identifying potential risks and uncertainties related to project costs and developing strategies to mitigate risks and ensure project profitability.
- Leading the bid management process, including analyzing bid documents, preparing bid packages, and negotiating with vendors and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing and terms.
- Ensuring that all cost estimates adhere to company standards and industry best practices, maintaining a high level of accuracy and reliability.

Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in residential construction estimating, with experience leading estimating teams and delivering high-quality, cost-effective projects.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve common goals.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Thorough understanding of construction materials, methods, building codes, and industry standards.
- Negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint) and estimating software (BuildPro, SupplyPro, and NewStar).
