Application Services Director Position Summary

The Director of Application Services has the primary responsibility for directing the activities of personnel in the Application Services division of Information Services in the areas of analysis and design, implementation, maintenance and support of products that are of both clinical and financial origin. In addition, the Director will be involved with the management, organization and control of the information systems of TidalHealth. This activity will include the planning and development functions that contribute to reaching the strategic and tactical goals of the organization. The director will contribute to the success of new programs and strategic plans at TidalHealth as they relate to the processing, access, and utilization of information. The Director works with the Chief Information Officer to develop Information Services' strategies, standards, and budget. Oversees multiple large-scale projects including development, installation, and major modification of systems from concept to full operation across a multi-site enterprise. Responsible for providing 24x7 operating environment to support business critical information systems. Provides planning, consultation and advisory services to all levels of staff throughout the enterprise. Oversees, plans and participates in the research, evaluation and integration of new hardware/software technology, data administration, capacity planning, training and application support. Develops specifications for purchases, evaluates proposals, and initiates procurement. Plans, directs and administers a staff of application professionals. Plans, directs and evaluates the work of staff members. Provides consulting, support and backup to Application Services' staff. Establishes and maintains key relationships with vendors, agencies and peer organizations. Ensures that vendors are performing to contractual and mutually accepted expectations. Resolves issues that may arise.

Application Services Director Position Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, computer Science, or other computer related field or healthcare related field.
• Extensive work experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements on a case-by-case basis.
• A minimum of 5 years in the healthcare/computer field, preferably in a hospital environment or 5 years in a computer-related field with exposure to both clinical and financial applications, program development, and user support.
• Previous supervisory or project management experience is desirable.

Application Services Director Work Schedule

• Normal schedule is predominately day shift.
• Frequently required to work beyond normal end of shift.
• Occasional evening, night or weekend shifts may be required during special projects or circumstances.
• Available for emergencies as circumstances dictate.
• Limited travel is required.

Application Services Director Benefits

• At TidalHealth, team members working at least 36 hours per pay period based on 12-hour shift schedules or at least 37.5 hours for non 12-hour shift schedules and part-time team members working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.
