DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Equity and Innovation is responsible for developing and implementing short and long-range equity and cultural diversity plans in line with the MCSS Strategic Plan. Under the general direction of the Superintendent, reporting directly to the Deputy Superintendent, the Director works as the liaison and a resource to all parties and will organize, coordinate, and communicate the various facets of educational equity in order to enhance student learning, promote the overall efficiency of the school system, and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work in partnership with the Superintendent and system representatives to implement the Madison County School System's Strategic Plan Facilitates and monitors the implementation of the MCSS Consent Order and coordinates reports to all required parties Organize, coordinate, evaluate, and communicate the various facets of educational equity across the system Write, revise, update and guide the implementation of district policies and administrative regulations relating to educational equity Coordinate and provide professional learning for employees in relation to cultural diversity and equity affairs Provides professional development to staff and administrators on equity to include the MCSS Consent Order Coordinates with the Personnel Department to oversee minority recruitment and retention efforts Coordinates and facilitates meetings with community stakeholders Develops and identifies potential community partnerships and resources Represent Madison County Schools at community meetings and events at the discretion of the Superintendent Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's Degree or higher in the field of education.
- ALSDE Administrative Certification
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Principals Experience
- Experience working with the various levels of administration including federal entities.
- Ability to analyze and problem-solve
- Strong leadership qualities and experience
- Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
