QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Connecticut certification with endorsement (070)
- Masters degree in school psychology or a related field from an accredited institution
- Capable of establishing positive and productive working relationships with students, parents, and school staff
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
WORK YEAR: 187 days
REPORTS TO: Building Principal and/or Assistant Director of Pupil Personnel Services
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide individual and group counseling to students dealing with personal, social, or emotional challenges
- Conduct psychological assessments to identify and evaluate students' cognitive skills, adaptive skills, and emotional and behavioral concerns
- Attend Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of appropriate interventions
- Consult with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to address students' social and emotional needs within the school setting
- Communicate regularly with parents to discuss concerns and provide resources for supporting students' mental health
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions, assessments, and interventions
- Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
