Position Purpose

Provide administrative leadership and staff supervision for the District's School-Based Health Centers and develop and maintain collaborations with community health (physical, vision, dental and behavioral), social service and youth-serving agencies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Direct the operations of the District's School-Based Health Centers (Family Resource Centers).
  • Supervise School-Based Health personnel (Coordinators, Specialist, Vision Coordinator, Administrative Staff).
  • Provide clinical support to Family Resource Centers as needed.
  • Coordinate services and programs with FWISD and community health partners (school-based telehealth, vaccine clinics, well-child visits, behavioral health, dental, and vision).
  • Develop and maintain School-Based Health Center policies and procedures including MOUs, agreements, interlocals, contracts, and background checks.
  • Serve as District contact/representative with community initiatives (Mental Health Connection, and others).
  • Identify and proactively seek external funding for programs and services.
  • Facilitate the provision of services by District and community agency personnel.
  • Coordinate facility maintenance and upkeep as needed.
  • Serve as District liaison with college and university mental health professional internships in selected departments.
  • Collaborate with campus-based and District support services professionals to identify needs, provide services and coordinate referrals to District and community providers.
  • Provide information, training, education and consultation services to schools, and communities concerning Family Resource Center/School-Based Health partnerships and services.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with District administrators, campus administrators and faculties.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with the community and with community providers.
  • Facilitate outcome evaluations of program impact and effectiveness. Provide regular analysis of program data.
  • Serve on the District Threat Assessment Team.
  • Comply with District policies and procedures.

Safety
  • Performs preventive maintenance on tools and equipment and ensures equipment is in safe operating condition.
  • Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing; operates tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
  • Corrects unsafe conditions in the work area and promptly reports any conditions that are not immediately correctable to the supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff, and makes recommendations relative to assignment, retention, discipline, and dismissal.

  • Program development, implementation and evaluation.
  • Staff development training, technical assistance, consultation and evaluation of school administrative, staff, faculty, and students.

Travel Requirements
  • Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Physical & Mental Demands, Work Hazards
  • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computers and peripherals.
  • Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
  • Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of a mouse; occasional reaching.
  • Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).
  • Environment: Works in a workspace; may require irregular and/or prolonged hours.
  • Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.
  • Mental Demands: Maintains emotional control under stress; works with frequent interruptions.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Education:
    • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social or behavioral science, public health, public administration, or related field required.
  • Certification/License:
    • Valid Texas Counseling Certification in at least one of the following required.
      • Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC)
      • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
      • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
      • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
      • Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP)
      • Licensed Psychologist (PhD)
  • Experience:
    • Required: 8 years' experience including:
      • 5 years' counseling, social work, or related services experience required;
      • 3 years' supervisory experience required.
  • Language: Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish oral and written) preferred.
