The Deposit Support Assistant Manager is responsible for supervision of back-office operations including but not limited to daily direction, and performance of a wide variety of operational and core banking system functions within Kitsap Bank. This position ensures the timeliness and accuracy of operational functions including Account Analysis, EFT Disputes, debit card processing, chargeback processing, fraudulent activity, Exceptions and Fedline processing, general ledger reconciliation, Year End tax reporting, bank cash/coin vault balancing, ordering, and shipping, investment sweep processing and overdraft account processing.

Grade: 20 Range: $75,212 - $116,576

This position may be eligible for an annual bonus depending on business factors and if the employee meets eligibility criteria.

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for accuracy and timely data processing/posting of all deposit transactions to insure the highest level of customer service to the bank's customers.
  • Ensure proper policies, procedures and internal controls are in place and followed for the following areas: Core system recordkeeping and account maintenance, large items, non-posted items, incoming returns, ACH processing, and wire transfer processing.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate department work activities so that daily and month-end processing is completed timely, cost effectively and efficiently.
  • Responsible for the Bank's daily settlement process.
  • Provide staff support for FIS systems and other vendor systems.
  • Works directly with statement vendor to ensure timeliness of statements and notices, request changes and requests for future processing changes.
  • Responsible for the ongoing review of current policies and procedures for operational areas. Also, responsible for the development of new policies and procedures needed for the safety and soundness operations of the bank processing systems.
  • Train, develop and motivate personnel toward performing their job duties according to bank policy and in a manner capable with employee expectations. Ensure that all department documentation is up-to-date- and accurate.
  • Identify and develop ways to operate more cost effectively and efficiently.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including being cross-trained and utilized on other departmental positions as deemed necessary.
  • Assist with documentation for external and internal audits and exams.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
  • High school diploma or GED Required.
  • Four-year college degree and or a minimum of 5 years of banking and supervisory experience (back-office operations preferred). Banking or financial services industry experience preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of banking products and services.
  • Thorough understanding of deposit applications, deposit account histories and the function of on-line activity and corrections.
  • Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with both internal and external customers.
  • Detail oriented, high level of accuracy, problem solving abilities, and strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to lead others in an effective and impactful way.
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively utilize computer technology.
  • Ability to operate standard bank/office equipment such as a copy machine, telephone, fax machine, and ten-key calculator

Physical/Mental Requirements:
  • Position frequently involves hearing, speaking, fingering, standing, walking and repetitive motions of hands/wrists.
  • Requires use of close and distance vision.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and effectively communicate with Bank clients.
  • Travel is occasionally required to client's places of business and to attend community events.
  • Ability to discern information and formulate appropriate action.
  • Ability to lift to 30 pounds.
