The Department of Pharmacology and Neuroscience and the Garrison Institute on Aging at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center are seeking a faculty candidate with a Ph.D. in one of the following fields, epidemiologist, statistician, public health, health psychology, or social psychology who will have an appointment in the Department of Pharmacology and Neuroscience but the primary responsibility is to work in the Garrison Institute on Aging. We seek candidates with strong research methodology and implementation, history of funding, excellent publication record, and publications with rural participants. Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate's qualifications and experience.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Serves as the principal investigator of the ongoing Project FRONTIER , a longitudinal study of adults over 40 years of age living in four rural counties, which has collected an abundance of data focusing on aging and biospecimens.
  • Develops an independent research program by utilizing Project FRONTIER data for grant applications, as well as serving as a principal or co-investigator on other funded research
    projects by collaborating across disciplines with academic colleagues at TTUHSC.
  • Participate in medical and graduate training, including facilitating students' ability to write up posters for conferences and manuscripts for publications.
  • Create and enforce institutional/departmental policies for effective data management.


Pay Statement
