What You'll Do:

  • Deliver on a variety of functional and strategic logistic initiatives.

  • Facilitate all facets of team building and people leadership.

  • Flexibility to work various shifts/days to meet the ever-expanding need of our business and customers, 5-6 days a week, Monday-Saturday, depending on need. Hours are flexible as well, but typically day shift hours.

  • Ensure all associates are engaged, empowered, and accountable to win.
  • Ensure processes are relevant and consistently executed with greatness and accuracy i.e. routing, dispatch, check-in, fleet management, policies and procedure adherence.
  • Manage and modernize process to ensure exceptional service levels.
  • Perform ride-along evaluations with Delivery Drivers as needed.
  • Drive change to streamline processes and find new ways/better ways to deliver excellence to our customer partners.
  • Care so much for our people that you refuse to allow them to be unsafe.
  • Work in a way that is collaborative, inclusive, and consistently cool.
  • Help design and deploy innovative ways to develop drivers and transportation team members.
  • Partner with people to identify new human needs and corresponding solutions.
  • Personally own the responsibilities of ensuring people are paid correctly, enjoy the benefits we offer, and understand how they contribute.
  • Build, lead, and develop a winning team.
  • Innovate and create new methods to increase asset utilization.

What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • A sincere passion for positively impacting people and making work, fun (this is first on the list for a reason!)
  • Insightful, meaningful, relevant relationship skills.
  • A proven track record of being a bad*@# transportation expert including 5 years managing a trucking/dispatch/driver fleet with positive results, growing the business and making wise spend decisions. Leadership covering multiple supervisors, dispatchers and drivers.
  • A must is a strong knowledge of DOT Hours of Service Rules and managing the fleet of drivers to these rules.
  • A hunger to learn and grow.
  • Experience managing a fleet in a package car or similar environment.
  • Creative new ideas on how we can better serve our community of employees and customers.
  • An extreme sense of ownership (meaning you treat every person, every function, everything as if you were the owner of this company). Ability to assess an unforeseen situation, such as a vehicle malfunction, determine immediate needs and work to get the driver and business moving again.
  • Ability to coach and train drivers on safe driving methods through structured session, video review, observation - Smith System certification a plus.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience with Omnitracs Roadnet Anywhere routing software; understanding routing, efficiency, and how to improve our business through proper utilization.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft office products, specifically Excel and Word.
  • Commitment, loyalty, integrity, compassion, empathy and patience.
  • A proven skill set and knowledge base of people leadership, transportation related laws/regulations.
  • A Class A CDL is desirable; or applicable experience moving Class A equipment on company property when needed.
  • Is a professional through and through. Exemplifies a positive attitude with direct and indirect reports.
  • Willingness to travel as needed
